After seeing my children build all kinds of cool things with LEGO building blocks, and realizing I am old enough I don’t need to ask permission from my parents for the budget. I decided to try and build a complete Langstroth beehive from LEGO. It toke some time (specially getting all the needed parts, most of them second hand) but finally I got it done. This is the first ever complete real size LEGO beehive I know of (If not I apologize for taking the credit) It has been populated by an existing colony, and it looks like the bees are happy with it so far. * After reading some of the comments, there is one point I would like to clarify; I am a beekeeper (i.e. expert in bees not a Lego expert). Because of green ecological preferences it was important for us to try and use secondhand, reused Lego pieces, some were even donated by children that helped us build the hive. I must admit that I did not check if all the pieces we used are „purebred“ Lego, but most are. Either way we accepted all of them with love. I apologize if we were not purist enough in our Lego selection.
